First Nations, Metis and Inuit

At Rosedale Traditional Community School, Indigenous Student Services works alongside Indigenous students, families, staff, and community to nurture a strong sense of belonging, connection, and success. Support is available across academic, social, and cultural areas, with a focus on honouring each student’s strengths, identity, relationships, and individual needs. Our Indigenous Education Assistant works collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and community partners to help create meaningful opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. The Indigenous Education Room provides a welcoming, quiet, and supportive space where students can connect, learn, access assistance, and build relationships. This work reflects the BC minsitry of education's emphasis on relationships, personal and cultural identity, belonging, and the First Peoples Principles of Learning, including the importance of learning being relational and connected to family, community, and place.
