Tournament Levels

  • School Challenge: Teams from the same school compete against each other until there is one winning team.
  • Library Challenge: Each winning team from the schools competes against each other until there is one winning team.
  • Community Challenge: FVRL Library Challenge - winning teams from each school challenge each other.
  • Grand Challenge: Winning teams from FVRL, Coquitlam, North Vancouver City, New Westminster and Surrey Library systems challenge each other to determine an overall winning team. 

AMAZING BOOK RACE GRADES 6 - 8 - First Meeting Nov. 5th

Title options include five novels, one novel-in-verse, two graphic novels, and one non-fiction book. Thank you to our RTCS Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) for supporting this and many other initiatives in our school.

EBooks and Audio Books All Year Long - Yes, Please!

Students can Borrow Free eBooks and Audiobooks year round!

  • The free Sora app is a quick and easy way for students to borrow digital titles. 

Get Started:

  • Two ways: Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store OR visit soraapp.com on a device / computer.
  • Search Chilliwack and the Chilliwack School District will show. (NOTE: Accounts are under our school district CHILLIWACK and NOT under individual schools. Searching for location works better than "find my location").
  • Sign in - Students will use their student's SD33 login (a number they have been assigned) followed by @sd33online.ca and their password.
  • Browse the Explore tab to check out all the options available in our new online library.

Library Learning Commons Hours: 

Open almost every day from 7:40 am - 8:05 for grades 4 - 8 with access to games, a quieter reading area, and book exchanges, almost every lunch break except for Thursdays (after the eating time) for middle grades, and almost every day after school until 2:15 for book exchanges and quiet reading. Additionally, every elementary class has a set time every week to spend time in the library. (The teacher-librarian will occasionally not open the library at the times listed above if away, at a meeting, or if a club or other activity is using the library learning commons space.
