Hello families!
If your child is going to be absent and you would like to provide him/her with some learning opportunities, below are some suggestions.
- Reading - Have your child read independently and to someone in the house. Discuss stories, have your child retell the main events and ask questions to support comprehension.
- Writing - Keep a daily writing Journal. You can ask your child to choose something from his/her memory, imagination or fact pocket. Students will know what this means.
- Math - Play card games that support math, practice counting coins, or login to an online math site (I've attached a few ideas for sites below).
Please email me if you have any questions (laurie_wiley@sd33.bc.ca) or give me a call at the school (604-794-7124) .
